Monday found me eating my way through a restaurant strip for a food feature I'm working on. And so when I noticed a couple of rashes on my arms Tuesday night, I thought it was just a reaction to something I ate the day before. By Wednesday, the rashes have multiplied. Because I had a trip planned the following day, I was alarmed. What if it wasn't an allergy? What if it was something different? But I didn't get sick, how could this be anything but an allergy? Yes, I sometimes tend to overthink things.
For my peace of my mind, I went to our doctor, and the verdict: it's some form of measles. It's hysterical! I am 43 and I have the measles Mwahahaha! I have rashes all over my face and body, and sometimes, they could get so very itchy!! "Don't scratch," my friend J said. "Get some rest," A said. "Go to sleep," L said.
I would go to sleep but all I could think of now are these words: itchy, itchy, itchy! And I just want to scratchy, scratchy, scratchy!!! Nyak!
I hope all the itchiness goes away soon. Viral exanthems are a pain. Hope you can load up on your vitamin A too. :)
ReplyDeletehi there! i'm having the same infection said my doctor. and like you i did not have any cold-like symptoms. can i just ask how long it took you to recover completely from the disease? what did you do aside from getting enough sleep? my doctor just gave me an anti-histamine to overcome the itch(i wonder if such medication is enough). did the rashes disappear all at the same time? in my case, there are those that healed and some few spots appear in the area that has not been affected before. this has been for a week now and it really makes me panic even more.
ReplyDeletepls. reply. i would really be thankful for any words you might share. thanks!
Hey Chris! My doctor also gave me some antibiotics, if I remember correctly. My rashes cleared in a few days, around four or five. Hope you're better :)
