Strawberry Fresh

What I don't miss about my previous job were the wall-to-wall press events that I am sometimes obligated to attend. Now don't get me wrong, I love press events. I like knowing what's new and meeting up with my press friends. What I didn't like then was the fact that I hardly had time to really enjoy them. I would be at this lunch, listening to the program but at the back of my mind, I was already thinking of what I have to do once I get back to the office. Not fun!

So when I was invited by friends from Campaigns & Grey to an Electrolux event, I heartily agreed. At long last, I thought, I'd be able to enjoy my lunch plus, I'd get to see the Electrolux people once again. They are one passionate bunch. And true to form, when I see Mr. D, he had this big smile on his face. When I ask why, he says that he had just closed a deal. Ms. M greets me by my name and I was flattered that she remembered me. Mr. T leads us to their table and starts talking animatedly about what's going to happen next.

Animated, that's the word. The last time I went to an Electrolux event (or was it second to the last, who cares?!), things got pretty animated. They served an al fresco lunch at their humongous balcony with this fantastic view of Makati's concrete jungle. In the middle of the table was a bottle of wine, which I think was for decorative purposes only. But then, somebody asked Mr. T if we can drink the wine and he said, why not?! And so, we drank and talked and drank, and managed to finish the bottle in record time (We all had deadlines after all). We opened another bottle, I think, but by then I was just giggling like crazy. It was a happy day :)

This is the view from their balcony. It's a lovely spot. And the wind was just amazing. Lunch was served here but all too soon, we had to leave.

Mr. T, so happy and a bit sloshed. We love him!

I love the bag clips in their new line of refrigerators. I am a big organizer. I always like putting things in their places and when I saw those clips, it was like a eureka moment. Just slip your bag of sili or kangkong and they need never be crushed again by the weight of your cabbage or carrots in the veggie bin. I also like their new air-conditioners which had Vitamin C in their filters (I don't know how they did that but it's 2010, you can do just about anything), so that your skin doesn't get all dried up from the cold.

We were served fresh strawberries, straight out of the refrigerators. They tasted of the cool climes of Baguio. Perfect!

  3. Is Mr.T the original Electrolux man on their TVC's from the early days? I'm gonna knock on your door, ring on your bell, tap on your window, too." He sure looks like the guys. :)

  4. "Come on and open your door so I can show you more!" I don't think so, Buckeroomama. He's their marketing guy :)
