I used to watch this show every afternoon when I was still a kid. Little Miss Philippines used to be a favorite in our household, and I actually remember watching Aiza Seguerra all adorable and witty and cute. Mr. Pogi, Little Mr. Pogi, Beautiful Girl, She's Got the Look, Laban o Bawi: these are just some of the crazy contests that we've come to know and love.
On to the show: I didn't realize that the set was actually small. When you watch it on TV, you'd think they'd have a huge expanse of a set but well, I should have known, it was all about making angles. And guess what? When the show goes on commercial, another set of hosts come in, talking to the audience and pumping them up for the next segment. Here, some photos from this crazy day:

As it turns out, it was the grand finals of Bebot 2010. That's actually a guy dressed up as a girl. There was this one particular guy who looked really beautiful in his makeup and gown. I think it was Paulo Avelino but I wasn't sure. I mean, he was all dressed up! Baron Geisler eventually won.

Bonus: Ryan Agoncillo was celebrating his birthday that day and you all know what that means! A birthday cake, a video greeting, and a surprise guest in the person of, drum roll please, Judy Ann Santos. I was definitely one starstruck fan!

Okay, I've met dozens of celebrities but I just had to take a photograph taken with Juday, who was just so filled with happiness over her pregnancy. We wish her only the best!

Mommy Carol was super nice! She brought some roasted chicken, which she offered to everyone in sight. We ended up sharing a meal with her while all these celebrities walked in and out of the room; it was a surreal experience.

This is the piece de resistance. Joey de Leon is just ageless. I watched this guy almost every day while I was growing up and he is just super sharp. Vic Sotto was also there but I failed to have my picture taken with him; oh well, maybe next time :)

I love this stairway. It reminds me of Norma in Sunset Boulevard. "I'm ready for my closeup, Mr. DeMille!"
LOL! You feed my nostalgia... I grew up in the Philippines and have watched Eat Bulaga, too. :) I left for Hong Kong before Judy Ann became really popular, so I don't know much about her, but I most certainly remember Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Buckeroomama! Don't you just miss these game shows?! I don't get to watch Eat Bulaga nowadays but I am still such a fan of Joey and Vic :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I would love to visit a game show set sometime.
ReplyDeleteHey 2wired2tired! It was a surreal experience. It was fun just observing all the goings-on; and there were so many stars. I meet many celebrities in my line of work but nothing beats seeing stars that you grew up with :)
