Not Giving In ... Yet!

For days and days now, I have been stopping myself from doing something that I really, really love. I've been hemming and hawing, and then hemming again because once I start, I know that I cannot stop.

A few weeks ago, we installed a new game in one of the computers; it's actually not a new game, it's an old game that I am definitely familiar with: SIMS! Yes, boys and girls, I was a SIMS addict. I used to devote hours and hours and hours of my life trying to make sure my characters (yes, I have several) eat properly, get enough sleep, and are happy. I first got into it because I wanted to know what my kids were playing. But before long, I was logging more hours on SIMS than they were (Ah, the benefits of being the "adult").

I was so fascinated with the game that I even wrote an essay about it in a now defunct magazine title, at least in our country, GamesMaster (*sigh*). I loved the game, I wrote, because unlike real life, everything was so clean in SIMS city: no heartaches, no headaches, no stress, no worries.

I would have gone on playing and playing but, lo and behold, our computer crashed, deleting everything that I've worked on. By then, I was too tired to recreate everything so I just let it go.

And now, here I am again.

  3. I never really got into SIMS, but then again I don't really get into the computer games that much. Do you think you will return to the SIMS life?

  5. I've never played SIMS, but only because I know it would suck me right in. Everything in moderation. :^)

  7. JLW, I like your tag (practical parenting in an impractical world: nice!). What occupations did your hubby choose? Did he become a superhero eventually?

Susan, I'm still thinking about it. Now that I work from home, it might be harder to pry myself away from it once I start mwahahaha Again, thanks for the award, haven't posted it though because I don't know what to say yet :)
